Iran MP: Zionist regime fears Ahmadinejad's presence in Lebanon
Tehran, Oct 10, IRNA -- The Zionist regime is afraid of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon and considers his presence in the Arab country a victory for Islam, member of Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy said on Saturday.
Talking to IRNA Saturday, Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini referred to the consequent failures of the Zionist regime in Lebanon and Palestine and said that they are overwhelmed by frustration over the spread of the spirit of resistance in the region.
"They also fear any move to promote unity among the Muslims," he noted.
Iran has always supported the Islamic resistance and this has made the arrogant powers angry, especially the US and the Zionist regime, he said.
Naqavi noted that Iran's ties with regional countries are expanding day by day and undoubtedly, all the Muslim and freedom-seeking nations consider Iran as their spiritual supporter.
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has earlier said that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to pay an official visit to Lebanon in coming days./end
