2nd Baku international children`s mugham festival wraps up
Baku, October 9 (AzerTAc). The 2nd International Children`s Mugham Festival has closed in Azerbaijan`s capital with a final concert and awards ceremony.
The final show featured the performance of singers from Azerbaijan, India, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the award-giving ceremony praised the government`s and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva`s role in developing and promoting Azerbaijan`s cultural values.
The festival, held since 1994, was given an international status last year. It aims to discover new talents in mugham, which was recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2003.
