STANDING COMMITTEE ON STATE STRUCTURE MEETS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Standing committee on state structure met Tuesday to discuss results of the works done in the interval of the spring session of the State Great Khural and agendas to be considered at the autumn session.
The General-Secretary of the parliamentary office Ts.Sharavdorj has given a report on draft laws and parliamentary decisions which have been submitted to parliament or under discussion.
According to him, 66 draft laws and other legal documents have been submitted to parliament so far, of them 12 drafts have been rejected--initiated by MPs seven drafts and by government members five. Among the draft laws, initiated by the government members, one draft has been withdrawn already, another one has been postponed due to a proposal of one Ministry. Remaining three drafts will be withdrawn during a Standing committee meeting.
During the discussion of draft laws initiated by MPs, a draft law has been withdrawn on extraction of mineral resources from mini-mines, initiated by S.Lambaa MP and others.
E.Bat-Uul, N.Ganbyamba, S.Lambaa and Su.Batbold MPs put forward some questions and proposals. They consider that policy of working out laws must be connected with the parliamentary strategy and plans, that the drafts related to finance and budget must be worked out by the government only. They have pointed out that the legal policy must be tied up with the policy on development of Mongolia.
The Standing committee's members also discussed and approved a draft plan on works to be done in the period of the parliamentary autumn session in 2010 and results of the works done by the Standing committee in times of interval of the parliamentary spring session.
