Iran: Bushehr nuclear power plant to go into stream by Dec.
Tehran, Oct 6, IRNA- Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday that Bushehr nuclear power plant will go into stream by the second half of December.
The Bushehr power plant is expected to be connected to nationwide grid by operating at 40 percent of its nominal capacity, Salehi said.
Speaking to a gathering of elites and intellectuals, he said generation of electricity in nuclear power plants will be done on a step by step basis.
It is expected that Bushehr nuclear power plant will reach its nominal capacity by next spring, he said.
Salehi had already designated second half of October as the final deadline for commissioning of the nuclear power plant.
The delay is attributed to minor leakage in a pool near the heart of the reactor, he said.
The nuclear fuel will be injected into the heart of the reactor in the first half of November as planned, he underlined./end
