OPEC plays important role in maintaining oil market stability-PM.

ASTANA, October 5 (Itar-Tass) -- Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Karim
Maksimov believes that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting
Countries (OPEC) is the structure which considerably maintains stability
of the oil market.
"Kazakhstan admits the importance of the OPEC role in maintaining
stability of the whole oil market, as well as the importance of
cooperation between producing and consuming countries, between OPEC
member-countries and non-member-countries of the organization, such as
Kazakhstan," he said at the 5th Eurasian forum KAZENERGY-2010.
In this context, the prime minister stressed that the recent economic
crisis made think of what tendencies are available in the sphere of oil
and gas. "The point at issue consists in the fact where supplies of energy
resources will go tomorrow and how their traditional directions change in
the world," Maksimov said in conclusion.
