Car bombed at Thonglor Pet Hospital, Pinklao; no one hurt

BANGKOK, Oct 5 -- A bomb exploded on Monday night beneath a car parked in the parking lot of the Pinklao branch of Thonglor Pet Hospital, in Bangkok's Bangplad district.

The car was damaged but no one was hurt in Bangkok's latest bomb incident.

Police said bomb experts inspected the scene and found the black sedan was damaged at the front bumper and windshield. Fragments of the bomb were found scattered around the car which belongs to a female veterinarian on the veterinary hospital staff.

She told police that she came to work normally for the evening shift and heard a loud bomb sound at around 10.45pm from parking lot and was frighthen that her car was hit by bomb as she had no personal conflict with anyone.

Police said no one was injured in the incident, but the vehicle was damaged. Investigators and bomb experts collected evidence at the scene to identify what kind of bomb was used.

Investigators believed that the bomb was placed at the front wheel housing.

Initial investigation from the closed circuit television images, two men on a motorcycle came to the bomb scene at 10.20pm, before the explosion. One man walked to the car and left after only 23 seconds.

The footage was not entirely clear because of darkness, so police are inspecting films from other security cameras in area for more evidence. (MCOT online news)
