Medvedev signs law ratifying agt on SCO antiterror training.

MOSCOW, October 4 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has
signed the federal law "On ratification of the Agreement on the training
of personnel for antiterrorist agencies of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organisation (SCO) member states."
The Kremlin press service reported that the law envisages ratification
of the Agreement on the training of personnel for antiterrorist units of
the SCO member states that was signed in Yekaterinburg on June 16, 2009 at
a meeting of the Council of the Heads of State - SCO members.
The federal law has been submitted to the State Duma lower house of
parliament for ratification by the RF president.
The agreement is aimed at the creation of the international legal
basis of cooperation in the sphere of personnel training for antiterrorist
units of the SCO member states and raising efficiency of combating
terrorism.
Personnel training for SCO members' antiterrorist units will make it
possible to upgrade the practical skills, knowledge and experience in the
sphere of the fight against terrorism, it will promote mastering of the
modern tactical methods of conducting special antiterrorist operations,
will create conditions for raising the level of individual special
training and exchange of experience in the sphere of activities of
antiterrorist units.
