Iran's Radan: U.S. financial sanctions on me are like a joke
TEHRAN, Oct. 3 (MNA) -- Deputy police chief Ahmad Reza Radan has likened to a joke an announcement by the Obama administration that his assets will be frozen in the United States as he dismissed any bank accounts in the U.S.
“This is more like a joke,” Radan told reporters.
Radan added he will be happy if Obama announces his “account balance” in U.S. banks so that he would “follow the case after the freeze.”
The U.S. administration issued an order on Wednesday imposing travel and financial restrictions on eight Iranian officials including Radan, accusing them of human rights abuses during the post-election unrest in Iran in 2009. The order will also freeze any assets held by the individuals in the United States.
Radan said that it is obvious for all that the U.S. president plays no role in making decisions and is an indecisive person.
