Speaker condemns US move to close accounts of Iranian officials

Tehran, Oct 3, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani here on Sunday criticized the recent move by the US administration to close accounts of several Iranian officials and to deny entry visa to them.
Addressing the Majlis open session this morning, he said such a move by Washington is meaningless and is like a childish game at the international scene.
A country which claims to enjoy the global management is trying to compensate for its numerous failures in the region by closing the accounts of several Iranian officials and denying US visa to them.
He stressed that Washington is trying to create temporary tranquility for itself in the region.
Elsewhere in his speech, Larijani referred to the latest developments in the neighboring Iraq and expressed satisfaction with the nomination of the new Iraqi prime minister by various political parties.
Condemning the terrorist operations and the US interference in Iraq's domestic affairs in the past few months, he expressed hope that such decisions by the Shiite coalition would help restore tranquility and security to the region./end
