One dead in three vehicle smash in Qld

One person is dead after a collision between a truck and two cars on the Bruce
Highway in southeast Queensland.
Preliminary information indicates the collision occurred on the Bruce Highway, near
the Eatonvale Road exit at Maryborough, just before midday (AEST) on Saturday.
The truck burst into flames and was destroyed despite the efforts of the Queensland
Fire and Rescue Service, a police spokeswoman said.
"One person is deceased at the scene," she said.
The Bruce Highway was expected to be closed in both directions for many hours.
Motorists are being advised to remain patient and alter or delay travel times.
Anyone wishing to continue their journey can do so between Maryborough and Gympie
along the Cooloola Coast Road.
