Pakistan: 25 militants killed, several injured in clashes with security forces in Swat
Rawalpindi, July 30 PPI: At least 25 militants were killed and several injured in clashes between security forces and militants on Wednesday at Matta sub-division of Swat in northwest Pakistan.
Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said a Junior Commissioned Officer and three soldiers were also martyred in clashes which erupted after about 70 militants attacked a security check post in the area.
He said 50 to 60 miscreants went to Matta Bazar and manhandled civilian population and shopkeepers. They also forcefully shut the shops.
Curfew has been imposed in Swat and security forces ordered to take action against militants and miscreants where ever they were found involved in such activities.
