Medvedev congratulates Hu on 61st anniversary of CPR.
MOSCOW, October 1 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
sent a congratulatory message to his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao on the
occasion of the national holiday - the 61st anniversary of the Chinese
People's Republic (CPR).
"For the last few decades China has made drastic changes. Your country
celebrates this remarkable day with impressive achievements, a dynamic
economic growth and a growing international authority. I was convinced of
this once again during a visit to the Shanghai World Exhibition EXPO-2010
currently underway with the unprecedented success and on a large scale.
"I am grateful for a warm reception and hospitality that were offered
to me on the Chinese soil during my official visit in the Chinese People's
Republic. I am convinced that important agreements, which we had reached,
will contribute to stronger mutual political trust and will give a strong
impetus for Russian-Chinese cooperation in strategically important
industries, broader scientific-technical and humanitarian ties and closer
coordination of actions in international affairs.
"Russian-Chinese relations are currently at the unprecedented high
level. Our strategic partnership is based on firm historical traditions of
good neighborliness and mutual respect and embraces all spheres of
bilateral relations.
"I praise highly the attention that you give to the development of
friendship and cooperation between our countries. I hope to continue a
close joint work for long-term interests of our countries and nations.
"We are sincerely glad about outstanding achievements of the Chinese
nation in sweeping socio-economic reforms that turned the Chinese People's
Republic in an influential power and a world leader of development," the
Kremlin press service quoted Medvedev as saying in the congratulatory
message.
