N Korea party confer important for country development-RF FM.

BEIJING, September 30 (Itar-Tass) - The North Korean party conference
has made an important contribution to the further development of this
country, RF Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin told Russian
journalists after talks in Beijing on Thursday.
"Russia and China with close attention watch the developments in North
Korea, its recent party forum at which important appointments in its
leadership were made," he said. "We believe that this forum has become an
important contribution to the country's development," the diplomat
stressed.
Borodavkin also noted that Russia continues to render food assistance
to North Korea and supplies basic consumer goods to it.
At a conference of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) that took place
on September 28 Kim Jong-Il was re-elected Chairman of the State Defence
Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). His
youngest son Kim Jong-un was elected to the KWP Central Committee and also
entered the WPK Central Military Committee as its vice chairman.
According to the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA),
General Secretary Kim Jong-Il was re-elected as general secretary of the
Workers' Party of Korea at the conference of the WPK convened at a
historic time when a signal turn is being effected in carrying out the
revolutionary cause of Juche, the cause of building a thriving socialist
nation.
The conference solemnly declared internally and externally that Kim
Jong-Il was re-elected as general secretary of the WPK with unanimous will
and wishes of all the party members, servicepersons and people of the DPRK
as he performed the immortal exploits to shine long in the history of the
country and developed the WPK into the party of President Kim Il-Sung,
ever-victorious Juche-type revolutionary party by wisely leading the
revolutionary cause of Juche to victories only with his outstanding idea
and uncommon revolutionary practices for half a century since he embarked
upon the road of the revolution in his early years.
His re-election to the supreme post of the WPK, organizer and guide of
all victories of the Korean people, is the highest glory and happiness of
millions of party members and servicepersons and people of the DPRK and a
great auspicious event of the country and the nation, according to the
agency.
According to KCNA, It marked a great political event that strikingly
demonstrated the unshakable faith and will of the army and people of the
DPRK to resolutely defend and glorify the undying revolutionary feats
performed by Kim Il Sung and accomplish the Songun revolutionary cause
under the tested and seasoned leadership of Kim Jong-Il.
