.Tajikistan opens Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund office.

DUSHANBE, September 29 (Itar-Tass) - Executive Director of the
Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund, Armen Smbatyan, has opened the
fund's office in the Tajik capital Dushanbe on Wednesday. It is the first
office of the Fund in the whole of the CIS. More are to be inaugurated
soon.
Smbatyan said, "the office will promote humanitarian cooperation and
help step up the fulfillment of the Fund's program in the sphere of
education, culture, science and youth policies."
He also added that the Fund planned to open its offices in other CIS
countries by the yearend.
Smbatyan is taking part in an international scientific conference
devoted to high altitude research within the framework of the
international research center Pamir-Chakaltai, which opened here today.
Scientists from the CIS countries are taking part in the conference.
