Russian minister to discuss pharmaceutical cooperation with India.

NEW DELHI, September 29 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Minister of Industry and
Trade Viktor Khristenko arrived in India on Wednesday for talks on
bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.
According to an official at the Russian embassy in India, Khristenko
plans to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Anand Sharma and Deputy
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Mukul Joshi, who also oversees
the pharmaceutical industry.
Medicines comprise a large share of India's export to Russia.
"Currently India exports to us mostly medicines, but we also want to
attract Indian technologies and investments into the development of Russia'
s pharmaceutical industry," the head of the Russian trade mission in
India, Mikhail Rapota, said.
Khristenko is accompanied by the top managers of Russia's key
pharmaceutical companies. During the visit he plans to familiarize himself
with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in
Chandigarh and a medicine development company in Hyderabad.
