Russia to adopt Singapore`s e-government experience - Sobyanin
SINGAPORE, September 28 (Itar-Tass) - Russia plans to adopt Singapore'
s experience in information technologies, including implementation of the
electronic government system, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Sergei
Sobyanin said on Tuesday.
"We are very interested in Singapore's practice of using information
technologies, including their electronic government programme," he said.
"The more we are involved in this innovation, the more valuable the
experience of other countries seems to us."
Sobyanin watched a presentation of Singapore's electronic government
system, where he saw how many procedures may be simplified. He saw how
users may register new businesses, get necessary licenses and
consultations on-line. Sobyanin was especially interested in the
experience of getting various licenses in one place and in the option to
get on-line necessary documents for construction projects.
A meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong finished Sobyanin's
official visit to Singapore.
