Victorians urged to switch to digital

The federal government has announced all analog television signals in regional
Victoria will be switched off from May 2011.
The move, part of the switchover to digital television, will affect about 445,000
households across the state.
Other areas of Victoria have already moved across to the new technology with
Mildura/Sunraysia becoming Australia's first digital-only region on June 30.
Communications Minister Stephen Conroy said regional Victoria was on track to switch
over to digital-only television, with 76 per cent of households having already
converted.
All analog television signals in regional Victoria will be switched off on May 5, 2011.
