VP PAYS TRIBUTE TO NEWSPAPER DELIVERERS
Jakarta, July 30 (ANTARA) - Vice President M Jusuf Kalla said newspaper deliverers are "information heroes" because they convey information to readers.
"If teachers are called 'undecorated heroes', newspaper deliverers are 'information heroes' because they devote themselves to readers by delivering information," Kalla said here on Wednesday when speaking at function to celebrate "Newspaper Deliverers' Day" at Ancol.
The vice president in his speech also called on the media to give critical but objective information which could create optimism among the public.
"Without optimism, the nation won't be able to move forward," he said before around 5,000 newspaper deliverers.
