Tajik services announce reward for info about dangerous criminals.

DUSHANBE, September 27 (Itar-Tass) - Tajik secret services have again
asked the local population to supply information leading to the dangerous
criminals who fled a remand prison overnight to August 23, promising a
large reward depending on the value of information.
The statement by the State Committee of National Security (GKNB) was
disseminated by the Khovar government agency on Monday.
The documents gives phone numbers and promises anonymity to the
callers. It underlined that some tips from local residents had already
been helpful.
On Sunday afternoon, law-enforcement agents neutralized one of the
escapees - Rakhmidin Azizov - in the eastern Faizabad district. He had
been sentenced to life imprisonment for taking part in an armed revolt in
the east of the republic in the summer of 2009. He offered armed
resistance and was killed in a shootout with security agents.
In all, Tajik law-enforcement units have caught eight of the 25
escapees since the prison break, including two foreign mercenaries.
Overnight to August 23, 25 inmates escaped from a remand prison in
Dushanbe, vaunted as the tightest security facility.
They included hardened criminal, including members of the armed group
arrested in the summer 2009. There were six Russian citizens among them,
convicted for participation in an illegal paramilitary formation.
Meanwhile, Tajik leader Emomali Rakhmon visited the military hospital,
which is providing treatment for ten servicemen of the national army
wounded in the militants' attack in the astern Rasht district on September
19.
Twenty-five troops died in the attack, and three more died of their
wounds later.
Rakhmon said the authorities would provide financial assistance to the
families of the killed and wounded servicemen.
During the meeting with the wounded troops, the president asked about
their condition, nourishment and whether the supply of medicines was
adequate.
He promised that the attackers would be detained and given the
punishment they deserve. Defence Minister Sherali Khairullayev was
accompanying the president.
Earlier, Tajik secret services said the armed units led by former
field commanders (who fought against government forces in 1992-1997) were
behind the attack.
Independent observers said the eastern region of Tajikistan, during
the Civil War, was the stronghold of the Opposition and has remained the
main source of instability since.
