BEIJING, September 27 (Itar-Tass) - Russia has not decided so far if
it should increase the supplies of space radioisotope generators to China.
"There is a contract of Roskosmos (Russian Federal Space Agency) on
the supplies of radioisotope generators, but the Chinese side is
interested in a greater volume of supplies; we are analysing this
question, the decision has not been made yet," head of the Rosatom Nuclear
Energy State Corporation Sergei Kiriyenko who is accompanying Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev on an official visit to China, told reporters on
Monday.
Kiriyenko stressed that China "is displaying a major interest in the
space programme of nuclear technologies." He specified that an
radioisotope generator is "a small-size source of energy, simply - a
radioactive battery."
