Iran outshines Japan in world volleyball
MILAN, Italy, Sept. 27 (MNA) -- Iran defeated its Asian rival Japan at the 2010 FIVB Men's World Championship on Sunday.
Iran, who was pummeled by Egypt 3-0 in its opening match of the championship, beat Japanese team 3-1 (15-25, 25-17, 26-24, 25-23) in Pool A.
Iran is scheduled to take on host Italy on Monday. Italy has defeated Japan 3-0 in the first day.
A total of 24 teams divided into six groups of four each are participating in the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship in Milan, Italy.
The event will end on October 10.
