China-Russia relations reach unprecedentedly high level-Jechi.

BEIJING, September 26 (Itar-Tass) - Relations between China and Russia
have reached an unprecedentedly high level, said Chinese Foreign Minister
Yan Jechi, speaking in an exclusive interview with Itar-Tass on the eve of
the Chinese visit by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that started on
Sunday.
The Russian president began his second Chinese visit with the port
city of Dalian, where he laid down a wreath at the Memorial to Soviet men
and officers, who died liberating North-Eastern China from the Japanese
invaders, as well as the Russian soldiers, who died in the 1904-1905
Russia-Japan war.
The main part of the visit will be held in Beijing where the Russian
leader will stay on September 27 and will hold talks with Chinese
President Hu Jintao. The two presidents will centre on a broad range of
issues of Russian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation and will exchange
opinions on important international and regional problems.
The visit's programme also includes meetings with premier Wen Jiabao,
the Chairman of Standing Committee of all-China Assembly of National
Representatives U Bango and Vice-President Xi Jinping.
"Relations of strategic partnership and cooperation were established
over a decade ago between Russia and China, preserving a tendency toward
their healthy and stable development. The sides created a comprehensive
mechanism of exchanges and cooperation, including regular meetings between
heads of state, governments and parliaments. All this "helped to lay down
firm guarantees for the system of bilateral cooperation", Yan Jechi said.
The two sides constantly deepen political confidence; constantly
expand trade, economic, energy, scientific-technical, investment, military
and humanitarian cooperation, the minister noted.
The minister emphasized that Chinese-Russian relations assumed special
importance under conditions of a continuing process of economic
globalisation and deepening multipolarity. "All-round consolidation of
Chinese-Russian relations of strategic partnership and cooperation meets
not only the interests of the two states and peoples both countries, but
also the interests of peace all over the world, stability and
development," he stated.
"We are deeply convinced that Chinese-Russian relations of strategic
partnership and cooperation have in store even a more beautiful future
thanks to efforts of the heads of the two states," Jechi summed up.
Turning to the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula, the Chinese
foreign minister underlined that it "affects strategic security and
development of both China and Russia".
"China and Russia believe that further progress in the six-party
negotiating process, the solution of problems on the Korean Peninsula by
means of a dialogue and consultations; full implementation of provisions
of the joint statement signed on September 19, 2005 meet strategic
interests of the two countries as well as common interests of all the
interested countries in the region," the Chinese minister said.
