Czech Republic FM confers with Iran's Mottaki

New York, Sept 26, IRNA – Czech Republic Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg conferred with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.
In the meeting, Mottaki expounded on Iran’s economic advantages and said that in spite of sanctions and the world financial crisis, Iran’s economy witnessed a noticeable growth in its stock exchange and has been able to decrease unemployment rate.
He continued that manufacturing and production of equipment and parts for country’s oil and gas industry which was at beginning of the sanction in a level of 10 percent, now after imposing sanctions has reached to 70 percent, which indicates inefficiency of the sanctions against Iran.
Mottaki also expounde, upon his Czech counterpart request, on the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear program and issues related to Tehran Declaration, Group 5+1 and Vienna Group.
Schwarzenberg, for his part, underlined importance of relations between the two countries and, by referring to Iran history and civilization, called for expansion of ties./end
