NAT'L STATISTICAL COMMISSION HEAD RECEIVES SEZIN SINANOGLU

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A head of National statistical commission (NSC) S.Mendsaikhan received Wednesday
Sezin Sinanoglu, a UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Mongolia.
The National statistical commission has been working together with UN since 1970, since 1990 it has taken part in activities of the United Nations Development Programme, UN specialized organizations and United Nations statistical commission (UNSC).
Together with the UN specialized organizations and the UNSC, the NSC has implemented population and apartments censuses, children development study and reproductive health research, Mr. Mendsaikhan said.
Ms. Sinanoglu said she pays an attention to propagandizing the "World statistic Day-2010", which will be celebrated first time at initiative of the UN, by having it coincide with the population and apartments censuses-2010 of Mongolia. "i will give a support to this work," she added.
Mr. Mendsaikhan said that the NSC is seeking a membership in the United Nations statistical commission (UNSC).
