Vietnamese and Chinese border provinces
Dien Bien (VNA) – Vietnamese and Chinese border provinces agreed to strengthen
cooperation in the fields of border management, bordergate building, trade, energy
and transport-tourism.
The consensus was reached during the third session of the Joint Working Group
between Vietnam ’s Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Ha Giang provinces and
the neighbouring Chinese province of Yunnan held in Dien Bien Phu city on
September 20.
The sides agreed to continue encouraging agencies and businesses to hold regular
and irregular talks on issues of common concern in order to timely address
related problems.
In the border management, the provinces will strengthen information on border
marker planting and demarcation, prevent cross-border crimes and build a contact
mechanism in border forest fire fighting.
The sides agreed to enhance cooperation in exit and entry activities and goods
trading as well as strengthen the friendship for mutual development.
The forth session of the Joint Working Group will be held in Yunnan province
