Latest military equipment displayed in Iran's Sacred Defense ceremony

Tehran, Sept 22, IRNA – Latest home-made defensive equipment of the Iranian armed forces were displayed during a ceremony here Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the beginning of Iraq's eight-year imposed war against Iran in 1980.
September 22 is the start of the Sacred Defense Week in Iran which marks the anniversary of the beginning of Iraq's imposed war against the country in 1980.
Iranians commemorate memories of the eight-year imposed war by holding various ceremonies nationwide.
The national Sacred Defense Week ceremonies started in Tehran at the Mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini with the parade of various exemplary units of Iran's armed forces.
Senior military and government officials as well as foreign diplomats, military attaches and reporters are participating in the ceremony.
Various exemplary combat units, armored vehicles, missile launchers, missile carriers, different types of ballistic missiles including the Sejil, Qadr-1, Shahab-3, Zalzal and Faateh, as well as un-manned drone planes were displayed during the parade of different military units.
The S-200 missiles, central communication system, models of the Nasr, Kowsar, noor and al-sabehat missiles as well as speed boats are also displayed during the ceremony.
A number of exemplary Basij (Volunteer) units from Lorestan and Fars provinces as well as from other parts of Iran have also taken part in the parade./end
