Medvedev, panel to discuss def sector innovative dev ways.

MOSCOW, September 22 (Itar-Tass) - President Dmitry Medvedev is to
chair a meeting of the commission on the modernization and technological
development of the Russian economy here on Wednesday. The Commission's
meeting is to take pace at the Ramenskoye instrument-making plant.
The panel's meeting will be devoted to the theme of innovative
development of the defence-industry complex and the modernization of the
Armed Forces of Russia. A key report is to be made by Defence Minister
Anatoly Serdyukov.
Speeches are also to be made by Vladimir Verba, general director and
general designer of the radio engineering company Vega, Academician
Gennady Krasnikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, general director of
the Micron molecular electronics research institute and factory, and
Nikolai Kudryavtsev, rector of the Moscow institute for physics and
technology.
Wednesday's meeting of the Commission is a16th one. The panel was set
up in May last year, with President of the RF at the head. Sergei
Sobyanin, Vice-Premier and chief of the government staff, and Vladislav
Surkov, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, were
appointed to be Deputy Chairmen of the Commission.
Presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich became the Commission's Executive
Secretary. Dvorkovich said the Commission includes representatives of the
Presidential Administration, and members of the business, expert, and
scientific communities. "The Commission is, rather, a coordinating body,
on the strength of the meetings of which the President makes decisions or
gives assignments," he said.
The Commission includes, in particular, Andrei Belousov, director of
the finance department of the government staff, Gherman Gref, chief of the
Sverbank savings bank, Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov, Sergei Kiriyenko,
general director of the Rosatom Corporation, Mikhail Kovalchuk, director
of the Kurchatov Institute, Yuri Milner, Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Digital Sky Technologies Company, Elvira Nabiullina,
Minister of Economic Development, Mikhail Prokhorov, president of the
ONEXIM Group, Andrei Fursenko, Minister of Education and Science, Viktor
Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Trade, Sergei Chemezov, general
director of the Rostekhonologii state corporation, and Anatoly Chubais.
