IAEA general conference held in Vienna

Vienna, Sept 22, IRNA – International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) general conference was held here on Tuesday.
The 54th general conference of IAEA started its work here and Iran was elected as one of the deputies and members of board of directors.
Iran’s ambassador and permanent representatives in the agency presided part of the session.
In the meeting, annual programs of the agency will be considered by the member states.
Measures such as improving activities concerning nuclear sciences and technology, nuclear safety and safeguards are among issues to be discussed in the 5-day meeting.
Issues related to nuclear abilities of the Zionist regime and implementation of IAEA safeguards in the Middle East by the member states are among other important issues in the general conference.
The conference is the highest authority for decision making and taking policies for IAEA programs, in which heads of international organizations of atomic energy, cabinet ministers and representatives of member states of the agency attend./end
