Trial of al-Qaeda element starts in Sana`a

SANA'A, Sep.21 (Saba)- The Specialized
Penal Court in the capital Sana'a started Tuesday the trail of al-Qaeda element,
accused
of killing soldiers and bombing oil facilities and security outposts in Hadramout
province.
At the hearing, chaired by Judge Mohsen Alwan, the court listened to indictment by
the prosecution against the accused Saleh Abdul Habib al-Shawosh, nicknamed Salem
al-Hadrami.
The indictment indicated that the accused during 2007-2010 participated in an armed
and organized gang to commit criminal acts with others, who already sentenced in
their
cases, with the aim of attacking vital oil institutions of general interest,
military camps and security patrols, government and foreign facilities, security
leaders, individuals
and tourists, and endangering the safety and security of society at risk.
According to the indictment, the defendant, for committing the criminal acts, he
had prepared all necessary means of explosives, weapons, fake transport plates,
motorcycles,
rental shops and houses, communication devices, chemicals and fraudulent identities.
It also reviewed the terrorist acts carried out by the defendant during this period.
When the judge asked the defendant about the veracity of the charges against him,
he confessed that he had done.
The court decided after that the delay to October 2 to hear a detailed explanation
on the confession of the accused, who is, according to the prosecution, one of the
most
dangerous elements of al-Qaeda.
