North Korean FM confers with Mottaki
Tehran, July 30, IRNA - North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chon conferred with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Monday.
In the meeting, Mottaki said, "We have to promote Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to a new stage and play a more effective role in the world community." Mottaki called the movement as the most comprehensive political body among developing countries and added Iran and North Korea have hadactive participation in the movement for the past 30 years.
He continued, "There are no obstacles to develop ties between the two countries and bilateral ties should enter into a new phase upon existing potentials." Referring to the US situation in Iraq and Afghanistan and the US defeated policies in Lebanon, Mottaki said strengthening NAM would be a wise approach for developing countries and evaluated the future of NAM as " promising." Chon, for his part, expressed pleasure over Iran's access to the especial position in international arena and supported Iran's right to achieve nuclear energy and said North Korean nation stand by the sideof Iranians.
