Andre Rieu postpones tour due to illness

Violinist, conductor and composer Andre Rieu has postponed his Australia and New
Zealand concert dates in October due to ill health.
"Andre has been suffering from a viral infection of the vestibular nerve, which has
left him unable to carry out his tour commitments," a statement said.
Mr Rieu, speaking from his home in Maastricht in The Netherlands, said that he was
"heartbroken" not to perform for his fans in Australia and New Zealand.
He said he expects to make a full recovery and return "very soon".
A tour beginning in Melbourne on October 17 was to include Adelaide, Brisbane,
Newcastle and Sydney.
New tour dates will be rescheduled as soon as possible and tickets will be valid for
the new dates.
Those unable to attend rescheduled concerts should contact their point of purchase
for a refund, the statement said.
