PRESIDENT ISSUES DECREE TO PROTECT BURKHAN KHALDUN MOUNTAIN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia issued Monday a decree to keep a natural virginity of Burkhan Khaldun Mountain and to protect Mongolian historical and cultural memorials. The decree has been based on proposals sent by scholars, researchers, ordinary citizens and organizations.
The Burkhan Khaldun Mountain is a historical site that is closely connected with the history of the Mongolians and biography and life of Chingis Khaan. In accordance with the decree, the worship for Burkhan Khaldun Mountain will be performed on a new cairn located near the foot of the Mountain's supreme cairn, cherishing traditional custom.
In addition, the State Head has provided the Governemrnt with a guidance on defining valuables of natural and cultural wonders of the Burkhan Khaldun Mountain and areas around it, on taking steps to register them with the UNESCO's World Heritage.
The President has issued an appeal to all state organizations, NGOs, figures of sciences, history, culture and ordinary people to run wide-range effective works to research historical and cultural heritages related to Chingis Khaan's biography, protect and propagandize them around the world.
