J.ENKHSAIKHAN GIVES SPEECH AT IAEA'S SESSION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and to other international organizations at Vienna and Mongolia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary J.Enkhsaikhan gave a speech at an opening of the IAEA General Conference 54th session that started September 20 in Vienna, Austria.
Mr. Enkhsaikhan has underlined that the IAEA plays a major role in developing international nuclear sciences and technologies, and expressed thanks to Mr. Yukiya Amano, the Director-General of the IAEA, for paying a special attention to combating cancers. He has emphasized a requirement to renovate the agency's laboratory for researching regulation of food safety, animal husbandry, soil and drinking water and for training professionals.
At the general conference, Mr. Enkhsaikhan has made a statement calling countries to pay an attention to fighting with cancers and non-infectious diseases in conjunction with considering an implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in New York city.
The conference will continue for discussing and concluding a report on works of the IAEA done in 2009 and will issue recommendations and decisions on further works. In addition, a decision will be made on controversial matters between Arab and western countries on nuclear capability of Israel and on nuclear issue of Middle East.
