Russia, China not to change oil supplies terms via ESPO oil pipeline
..
21/9 Tass 137
TIANJIN, September 21 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia and China have not raised
the issue of revising terms of Russian oil supplies to China via the
Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil pipeline, Russia's Deputy Prime
Minister Igor Sechin said on Tuesday.
"The Chinese side has not raised the issue," Sechin told journalists
after the next round of the Russian-Chinese energy dialogue.
Sechin said that under the intergovernmental agreement on oil supplies
via the oil mains and the corporate agreement, oil supplies will begin in
2011. The term of the previous agreement between Russia's oil major
Rosneft and China's largest oil and gas supplies CNPC expires in December.
So, under the existing agreements, Russia will pump to China 15
million tons of oil a year via the Easter Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil
pipeline. Of these, Rosneft will account for 9 million tons, and Transneft
- 6 million tons. "All the parameters are in line with the agreement, and
there is no question of revision," Sechin said.
The Russian deputy prime minister noted however that judging by the
dynamics of bilateral cooperation, it is quite probable that Russia might
increase its oil supplies to China.
