ABOUT "SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD-2 PROJECT"


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The first stage of the project "Sustainable livelihood", financed by the World Bank, has been completed nationwide within 2004-2008, the second stage has been running since 2008. The journalists have been introduced to its process and further goals. The second stage is to continue until 2012.
"In its frames, a one-month campaign 'Sustainable development-Mongolia's future' is underway," B.Erdene-Ochir, a staffer of the Resident Representative of the WB said and gave information about projects and local development. while A.Khashtsetseg, a director of the project, spoke about the project's details.
They said there are no soum or village that has not received benefits from the project. A way of bringing a development to the rural areas is a public participation, said Khashtsetseg adding that the journalists have lots of duty in delivering the information to people and in activating them.
Some 2,500 projects costing 12.5 billion togrogs have been implemented during the first stage, 8.5 billion togrogs have been planned to be spent at the second stage, she said.
The training was attended by L. Dashdorj an advisor to the President, D. Nergui a director of the Institute for Animal Husbandry Research, J. Davaabaatar a deputy head, Administration of Land Affairs, Geodesy and they shared views on perspective of development of the animal husbandry sector with the gathers.
