TASHKENT, September 20 (Itar-Tass) -- Uzbekistan has banned
advertising, in any format, tobaccos and alcoholic drinks, local media
reported on Monday.
According to media reports, the republic's President Islam Karimov
signed a law imposing from September 18 a complete ban on advertising
tobaccos and any kind of alcoholic drinks, including beer.
The law specifies the notion of indirect advertising and fixes the
responsibility of individuals and legal entities for improper use of such
advertising, labels and foreign words, which may imply advertising of
tobaccos and alcoholic drinks.
