MARGIONO NEW INDONESIAN JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION CHIEF
Banda Aceh, Aceh, July 29 (ANTARA) - Margiono, director of the Surabaya-based Jawa Pos daily, was elected chief of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) for the 2008-2013 period at the organization's 22nd congress here on Tuesday night.
Margiono collected 58 out of 95 votes, leaving behind President Director of state broadcast company (RRI) Parni Hadi and former PWI secretary general Wina Armada with 13 votes each and chief of PWI's chapter in East Java Dhima Abror with 11 votes.
As widely expected, Margiono would receive support from almost all the association's 34 branches across the country.
