Iran-India in final of 3rd Asian Senior Men’s Vollyeball Championship

New Delhi, Sept 20, IRNA – Title contender and a powerhouse in Asian Volleyball, Iran to face India in the final of 3rd Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship (Central Zone), at Netaji Indoor Stadium courts in Kolkata, capital city of West Bengal state, on Monday.
Iran stormed to final by defeating Kazakhstan in straight sets with an all-win record in the Championship, Sunday. Dishing out yet another dominating performance, Iran thrashed Kazakhstan 25-20, 25-10, 25-19 to finish on top with three wins from three matches (six points).
Meanwhile, India on Sunday ensured final berth after winning over Pakistan by 25-17, 25-15, 25-22, although, India had lost to Iran in their first match.
The third Asian senior men's volleyball championship (central zone) got off with a well-organised opening ceremony at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Thursday.
The four-team, India-Iran-Kazakhstan-Pakistan, championship played in a single league format with the top two teams in the league playing the final on Monday./end
