Preparations for 8th meeting of Working Group on Yemen' accession to WTO =


SANA'A, Sep.18 (Saba)- The General Policies Committee on Yemen's =
accession to the World Trade Organization
(WTO) held on Saturday a meeting ,chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar.
In its meeting, the committee reviewed a number of topics related to =
ongoing preparations for convening the eighth meeting of the Working =
Group on Yemen's accession to be
held next Tuesday in Geneva.
The committee was briefed by the negotiating delegation on the topics =
that would be discussed in the meeting within Yemen's efforts to =
complete requirements of its accession
to the WTO by the end of this year.
Moreover, the committee reviewed the level of implementation of the =
Cabinet's decisions No. 202 and 203 on the package of legislations to be =
referred to the parliament for
discussion and approval and completing the constitutional procedures for =
issuing them.
The package included four new draft laws and seven draft amendments of =
laws in force within enhancing steps to accelerate the completion of the =
requirements for joining
the WTO.
Primer Minister Ali Mujawar, who chaired the meeting of the committee, =
directed the concerned and relative agencies to reorganize priorities of =
those laws before referring
them to the parliament in its coming session.
Furthermore, the committee got acquainted with the level of progress in =
the signing of bilateral agreements on access to markets in field of =
goods and services between Yemen
and countries that have requested to negotiate.
The committee noted to the good progress made in this regard and the =
developments in positions of some negotiating countries.
