Iranian politico-security delegation arrives in Manama

Manama, Sept 19, IRNA – An Iranian politico-security delegation arrived in Manama, capital of Bahrain, on Saturday to attend initial meeting of 7th Interior Ministers of Iraq neighboring countries .

Deputy Interior Minister in security and disciplinary forces affairs Ali Abdullahi heads the delegation.

The initial meeting of the 7th session of Interior Ministers of Iraq neighboring states will start its 2-day meeting from Sunday September 19, 2010 in Manama and delegations from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Syria and Turkey attend the meeting.

The meeting of the Interior Ministers of aforementioned states will be held on September 22, 2010 in Manama.

In the initial meeting, issues like ways to strengthen security cooperation, coordination in controlling borders with Iraq, prevention of terrorists infiltration and fight against terrorism and organized crimes as well as ways to support Iraqi security and assisting Iraqi government to establish security and stability will be discussed.

The first such meeting was held in Iran six years ago and then Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt hosted other meetings./end
