Iran achieves 90% self-sufficiency in mining equipment

Tehran, Sept 18, IRNA – A senior mining official said Iran has already achieved over 90 percent self-sufficiency in producing mining equipment.
Head of Managing Board of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization Hassan Pelarak said necessary arrangements have also been made to provide the rest of the needed equipment from domestic industrial units.
He said the production of the needed equipment will start soon.
The official stressed that the word sanction had no longer a meaning for Iran because the Islamic Republic has overcome different kinds of sanctions in the past three decades.
Pelarak went on to stress that Iran was facing no problems presently in meeting the demands by its mining and industry sector for equipment and machinery.
He further noted that necessary measures have also been taken to eliminate any psychological effect of sanctions on the mining sector./end
