IAEA no more impartial, says Pak analyst

Islamabad, Sep 18, IRNA -- A senior Pakistani analyst Shahid-ur-Rehman on Friday said that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has become biased towards Iran’s nuclear program after the appointment of new DG.

Talking to IRNA he said that the Iran's IAEA envoy Ali-Asghar Soltanieh has rightly demanded inspection of Israel nuclear capability.

“What Iran has said, it is in reaction to what IAEA and Israel are doing”, said the analyst.

Ali-Asghar Soltanieh in a speech, themed Israel nuclear capability, to the IAEA Board meeting has called on the IAEA Board of Governors to put investigation of Israel nuclear capability on its agenda.

'Iran is ready to finance such a historical inspection,' he added.

Zionist regime's nuclear capability is a serious threat to security of the Middle East and the world, said Soltanieh, calling on the international community to take swift action in this connection.

Shahid-ur-Rehman added that when Pakistan was developing its nuclear program, US and Israel had threatened the country to attack over its nuclear installations.

He was of the opinion that Now US and Israel are trying to pressurize Iran to role back its nuclear program. “They are threatening Iran with a preemptive attack”, he said.

The analyst said that Iran has already taken measures to protect its nuclear program and Iran’s decision to build more enrichment plants is one of them.

“Iran has responded the western threats intelligently”, he believed.

Shahid-ur-Rehman said for last three decades Iran has been offering a proposal of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the region of the Middle East, however Israel has always opposed the proposal. “It was historic proposal”, he added.

The analyst expressing his views said that the reports suggest that Israel has developed nuclear bomb.

He said that the IAEA has become partial and pursuing the US agenda towards Iran. “Iran is ready to offer concessions to IAEA yet US is suspecting Iran’s nuclear program”, he said./end
