COMPENSATION MIGHT INCREASE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In 1997, the pensions from social insurance fund were cut abruptly for 44 thousand under-pension age people after some amendments were made to the law on pensions and allowances. To protect these people's income, parliament issued a resolution, and these people began receiving a money allowance every month accordingly.
After 13 years the number of these people has decreased, for a majority of them have retired and are receiving pensions. Since the remaining 84 people are still receiving the compensation, the cabinet decided at Wednesday meeting to increase its minimum size and to submit related draft resolution to parliament soon.
If the resolution is supported, the minimum size of the compensation will go up from 81 thousand to 105 thousand togrogs.
