US props up setting up int'l fund for development in Yemen
SANA'A, Sep. 15 (Saba) -
US official revealed on Wednesday American trends to prop up a proposal of
establishing
an international fund for the infrastructure projects in Yemen.
During his meeting with Minister of Planning and International Cooperation
Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi, US Treasury Deputy Assistant Secretary for Africa and the
Middle East affirmed
that the proposal would be discussed during the expectant meeting of Yemen's friends
in New York on September 24th.
The US official voiced the American understanding for the nature of the economic
challenges Yemen faces, accenting the US administration's keenness to present more
assistance
for development in Yemen.
Al-Arhabi expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation of the US keenness on
mobilizing international support for the development in Yemen.
The two officials reviewed the final arrangements for the New York meeting, in
addition to several issues of concerning the bilateral cooperation.
