SJAHRIR'S REMAINS ARRIVE AT HIS HOME IN MENTENG, JAKARTA

Jakarta, July 29 (ANTARA) - Senior economist and member of the Presidential consultative board for economic affairs DR Sjahrir who died of lung cancer at a Singapore hospital, arrived at his home at Jalan Sukabumi No. 15, Menteng , Central Jakarta.

Sjahrir's body was brought flown from Singapore at 6.45 p.m. local time and arrived at his home in Menteng area by ambulance at 8.55 p.m. The funeral party landed at Soekarno Hatta airport Monday afternoon.

Sjahrir who has written many books, was survived by a wife with two children.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his wife in the company of a number of high-ranking government officials will be offering condolences to Sjahrir's bereaved family at 10 p.m.

State Secretary Hatta Radjasa said Sjahrir's body will find its last resting place in the Tanah Kusir public cemetery in South Jakarta on Tuesday monring.

Those offering condolences include businesswoman Dewi Motik, Gunawan Muhammad, and Sjahrir's other colleagues.

Those who has sent wreaths of flowers include Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician Pramono Anung, economist Rizal Ramli, Prabowo Subijanto, Paskah Suzetta and from Dorodjatun Kuntjorojati.
