BANGKOK, September 15 (Itar-Tass) -- The Pattaya City Court in
Thailand extended again the release on bail term for 12 more days for the
Russian musician Mikhail Pletnev, Russian Consul in Thailand Andrei
Dvornikov told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. "The musician as it was planned
arrived in the morning at the Pattaya City Court in Chonburi Province,
where the release on bail term was extended for him again," the Russian
diplomat said.
The Thai court has extended this measure of restraint for the fourth
time and the musician was permitted to temporarily thrice depart from the
country during guest performances of the Russian National Orchestra. The
conductor of the Russian National Orchestra is under investigation on
molestation charges issued after a relative of the presumed injured party
filed a lawsuit. Pletnev has not been found guilty yet, the detectives
said. The musician calls these accusations 'nonsense' and pleads not
guilty.
Under Thai legislation the investigation is to be completed within 84
days. After that the prosecutor's office will rule, whether criminal
proceedings should be instituted.
