Int'l expo of scientific-techl literature opens in Pyongyang.

PYONGYANG, September 14 (Itar-Tass) -- Scientific-technical literature
from 50 countries is presented at the seventh annual book exhibition which
opened in the North Korean capital on Monday. Scientific works published
in Russia, China, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Poland,
Nigeria, New Zealand, Singapore and a number of other states are exhibited
here.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, chairman of the Society of Cultural
Ties of the DPRK with abroad and head of the organizing committee Kim Jong
Suk noted that the government and the Korean Workers' Party pay great
attention to the holding of such exhibitions which "promote the
development of scientific and technical cooperation between different
countries."
According to her, the scale of such regular exhibitions in People's
Korea "will expand in the future."
The current exhibition will last until September 15. Secretary of the
Central Committee of the Korean Workers' Party Choi Te Bok and other
officials were present at the opening ceremony.
