Kazakh EMERCOM to stage exercise before OSCE summit

ASTANA, September 14 (Itar-Tass) - The Kazakh ministry for emergency
situations (EMERCOM) is coordinating actions for ensuring the security of
participants in the OSCE summit, due to be held in Astana on December 1-2.
"A special exercise will be held at the facilities in Astana, Alma Ata and
the Alma Ata Region, to be used at the OSCE summit, within the framework
of the 15th international seminar of EMERCOM units, entitled
Kazspas-2010," a representative of the Kazakh EMERCOM told Itar-Tass.
Kazakh Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Bozhko will be in charge
of the exercise.
"Rescue workers will study the routes of the movement of delegations,
will practice the deployment of professional rescue units and will analyse
ways of giving medical and other assistance that participants in the
summit might need," the press service representative continued.
The heads of state and government of 12 OSCE member countries, as well
as heads of 68 international organizations will take part in the Astana
summit.
