Yemeni forces achieve remarkable success against al-Qaeda
SANA'A, Sep. 13 (Saba)- A
security source has ridiculed what he called al-Qaeda allegations, in reference to
the
al-Qaeda declaration of Lawdar city, southern Yemen, as a state for the mujahidin.
The source said those were mere empty rhetoric and claims of alleged heroism that
does not exist on the ground.
"This is a desperate attempt to cover up their severe defeats, the latest of which
was in Lawdar in Abyan province. Our security services are engaging in open war
against
trerrorist elements and are achieving remarkable success".
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abu-Bakr al-Qirbi again denied all news reports that
spoke about the intervention of international forces in Yemen to combat terrorism.
al-Qirbi considered these news reports as "inaccurate media leaks" for election
purposes in the United States.
"Yemen's security is the responsibility of its national services in the first
place, and the Yemeni government welcomes any international support in the context
of training,
extending logistical and technical support and providing the army and security
forces with the arms and means of transport required to respond to terrorist
elements", the
Yemeni official added.
The security source also mocked the false claims of the so-called al-Qaeda
terrorists, mentioning that what appeared in the account ascribed to those elements
were just
empty verbal heresies and claims of the non-existing alleged heroism.
"It is a miserable attempt to cover up the hard defeats that those deviant
terrorist elements had suffered, mainly after the painful blows given by our
security and military
forces' heroes in more than one place", the source explained.
"The latest incident took place in Lawdar, where those elements received strong
blows after being besieged and pursued in their hideouts".
Many of them died during the confrontation with the Yemeni forces, while others
were caught and are currently undergoing investigation.
