AZERI AMBASSADOR TO BULGARIA AWARDED ORDER OF STARA PLANINA 1st DEGREE

Baku, September 14 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s outgoing ambassador in Sofia Elman Zeynalov has been awarded the Order of Stara Planina 1st degree, the highest award of Bulgaria.
The Azeri ambassador received the order from President Georgi Parvanov in a ceremony held at the building of the Bulgarian leader`s Administration.
The Bulgarian President praised Zeynalov`s “active cooperation”, saying the ambassador`s tenure in Sofia marked the development of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria relations.
“The fact the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria met three times in 18 months demonstrates that the relations between our countries have entered a qualitatively new level,” Parvanov said.
The Azerbaijani ambassador thanked the Bulgarian President for the “high award”.
“I regard this award as the sympathy and kindness of Bulgaria to the whole people of Azerbaijan, including President Ilham Aliyev.”
Zeynalov expressed confidence “the friendly and partner relations between our countries will be developing at a more rapid pace”.
